Questions and Answers
How did Trinity Worship Center get started?  In August of 1998, a group of believers led by Bishop Randy Taylor started this church in a small building on E. Washington Street.  A few months later, they bought the Pulaski Skate Center and held services there.  They also ran the skate center as an outreach.  In 2006 due to decline in business and the strain on the members the decision was made to try and sell the building for it to continue as a skate center. After finding no one willing to purchase it, we made the decision to stay and remodel into a more traditional church building.
We are in the middle of remodeling and are starting to reach out to our community for Christ.

So is construction complete?  No, but we have lights, air conditioning/heat, a place to sit, and bathrooms.  Most of the construction is at a point that it doesn't affect the normal activities of the church.  Just be considerate of the fact that there might be a mess here and there and perhaps a things lying around.

What denomination are you?  We started as an interdenominational church but in 2006 the pastoral staff joined The (Original) Church of God and the church became affiliated with them shortly thereafter.  The OCOG is a small but growing denomination that is trying to work to further the Kingdom.  You can find out more about them at www.theocog.org.

What type of people attend your church?  We are an inclusive group of people with attendees from babies to seniors and all in between.  We don't care who you are, you are welcome in our church and we will do our best to make you feel at home.

How often do you all have communion?  We have communion as a church the first Sunday of the month and on Easter and the Sunday closest to Christmas.  You are invited to partake with us but if you feel uncomfortable taking it you are not required to.  Just politly decline it when the ones who bring it to you are close.

Can you explain what happens on a typical Sunday morning at your church?  We start at 10:00 with Sunday School which is over with at 10:45.  We take about 15 minutes to enjoy coffee, hot chocolate, doughnuts, and fellowship with one another.  We start our main service at 11:00.  It consists of opening with Scripture and then our announcements are given.  We then proceed to our praise and worship segment.  This ends with tithes and offering being given.  If we have a special presentation or song it is usually after this.  Then our speaker gives the message for the day and we end usually with an altar call or time of prayer depending upon the speaker.  All this is subject to change if the Spirit moves or just to do it differently.

How is prayer requests done at your church?  We print prayer requests submitted by our members in the bulletin.  We also do it as a group on Wed nights.

Do you have preaching on Wednesday nights, or just bible study?
On Wednesday nights we have Praise and Worship with all ages.  After Praise and Worship the youth go into another room and have their service and the adults have a Bible study time.

How many different Sunday School classes do you have?  We have one for Adults and older youth together, one for kids, and we have one or toddlers.

Do you use a bible study book like what you can buy at a bookstore for your bible study?  Sunday School uses a Sunday School curriculum that the church provides. Wed night uses just a Bible but you might want to bring paper to take notes.  If you have any questions during Bible study then feel free to ask.  Bible study is open to input from all who attend and participation encourages the teacher as well

Why don't you have Sunday night services?  Due to our size and the location of many of our members we felt it was best to not have it for now due to high gas prices.  This allows for (hopefully) increased family time and a little more rest for  people who are busier than ever.  We may start having it again but probaly as a college service focused for those who are of college age(18 through 35 and those who are still that age at heart)

If I do decide to come sometimes and need transportation, how can I arrange that?  If you would contact us at the church we will do our best to make sure that you have a way.  363-8200 is the church number.  if no contact try 638-6736 and leave a message.  Please try to give us a little notice.  5 minutes before service is not good but 8:30 Sunday Morning usually works.  If you can contact us earlier, it makes it easier on us.

Are there any strange traditions that you have that other churches don't.  Well if you must know,  we do stand for the reading of the Word at the beginning of the service and usually at the start of the sermon.  If you aren't sure look around you and do what the others do.  We also don't pass the collection plate, they are located at the front of the church and at the appointed time, the congregation brings it the plate.  HINT:  If you don't want or aren't able to come to the front then get the attention of one of the kids in the church and they will happily take it for you.

What kind of praise and worship do you have.  We try to mix modern worship along with the timeless hymns from our forefathers in the Christian faith.  We use a band and try to play as professionally as possible.  It is o.k. with us if you raise your hands or do whatever form of praise as the Spirit leads.
